French President Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday hailed his country's "historic" ties with Japan following talks in Tokyo with Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, part of a three-day visit that will include a meeting with the emperor of Japan. Touching on the war in the Middle East, the two leaders said they would work together to help restore freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
